Lean-to additions in North Florida

Lean-to additions in North Florida: what to know

A lean-to runs along one sidewall under a lower, single-slope roof. Left open, it shelters a zero-turn, a flatbed trailer or a cord of firewood; closed in, it becomes a narrow storage room with its own door. Because it is framed into the garage's columns, the engineer designs it into the main frame rather than treating it as a separate structure. Adding one to a garage already standing is possible, but it is simpler and usually cleaner looking when it is drawn from the start.
